Over the past few years, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what makes creative businesses thrive.
As a furniture designer, some of the most rewarding projects I’ve worked on have come through collaboration. Working alongside architects, interior designers, photographers, makers, and other creatives to create something that couldn’t have been achieved alone.
As my own studio has grown, I’ve often found it difficult to find the right kind of workspace in Jersey. Not just somewhere to work, but a place that encourages connection, collaboration, and the sharing of ideas.
What started as a personal frustration quickly led to conversations with other creatives across the island. It became clear that many people were experiencing similar challenges, whether that was finding suitable workspace, opportunities to collaborate, or simply feeling connected to a wider creative community.
Over the past few months, I’ve been gathering feedback and speaking to creatives, freelancers, and business owners about what a dedicated creative hub could look like in Jersey.
The response has been incredibly encouraging and has reinforced the belief that there is an opportunity to create something meaningful for the island’s creative sector.
While there is still plenty of work to do, I’m excited to continue developing the idea and exploring what comes next.
