Why Horses Behave the Way They Do – An evening with equine behaviourist  Justine Harrison, organised by the Jersey Horse Association.

Would you like to understand why horses behave the way they do?

A better understanding of horse behaviour can help you improve your relationship with your own horse and give you the confidence to make more informed decisions about riding, handling, training and competing.  It can also help you make changes to management that support your horse’s health and wellbeing.

This evening talk with renowned equine behaviourist, Justine Harrison, is suitable for horse owners, students and equestrian professionals who would like to learn more about horse behaviour.

The talk will last around two hours with an interval to buy refreshments at the bar.

You will learn about:

Different aspects of horse behaviour (including play, sleep, social life, feeding and movement)

The horse’s behavioural needs

How management and environment can influence behaviour

An introduction to behaviour problems and why they develop

Recognising signs of pain, stress and fear

Practical ways changes in management can improve behaviour and wellbeing
