CLIMATE CHANGE ACTIVITIES ADDED TO CHILDREN’S LEARNING PLATFORM

New online resources have been added to the Government’s ‘Learning at Home’ website for children to use over the summer holiday – including activities focused on climate change and biodiversity.

Under the new ‘Climate Change in Focus’ section, children can learn about the climate emergency by watching videos and taking part in various activities. Themes include sun safety, biodiversity, water pollution, waste, recycling, global citizenship, and active transport.

The website also includes deals from local restaurants and organisations such as Jersey Heritage and Jersey Sport.

Minister for Children and Education, Deputy Inna Gardiner, said: ‘The Learning at Home website is full of great resources for children; if parents are looking for fun activities to keep children busy over the summer holidays, there is a list on the website ranging from activities such as making a bird feeder, to going for a walk through the Forgotten Forest.

‘We want families to enjoy the summer and have memorable experiences, so there are a few deals on the Latest Updates section which I hope families will be able to benefit from.’
