
The Summer Prize was awarded to Carol Ann Sutherland for her drawing: The dragon asks… can you see me…
A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, her paintings, drawings and prints form part of an evolving visual narrative developed throughout her career. Carol Ann receives £1,000 and a future solo exhibition at CCA Galleries International. Runner-up was Peter John Thompson for his work Eden, a richly layered composition combining printmaking techniques, painting, stencils and nature-inspired imagery. Peter John receives £250 and a future solo exhibition at the gallery.
The RURAL Landscape Award, celebrating artwork inspired by Jersey’s rural landscape, farming, wildlife and natural environment, was awarded to Ann Morgan for her work Spring time, Fern Valley.
Ann won an overnight stay at a National Trust site and a feature in RURAL magazine, which will be carried in its Autumn edition, to be published in late September.
