Jersey Post’s latest stamp set tell the tales of Saint Helier, the Island’s patron saint, including the annual procession and ceremony that takes place in the chapel next to Elizabeth Castle.
The illustrations, designed by Becca Thorne, a British artist who specialises in lino print artwork, are reminiscent of medieval tapestries.
Various stories surround the origins of Saint Helier and Jersey Post’s philatelic team opted for the most common story. The stamps feature key moments in the life of the saint, including his miraculous birth, his journey to the Island and how he inspired those around him, becoming a martyr and leaving a lasting legacy.
