With Covid, we hope, a diminishing problem (at least in Jersey) the Jersey Scientific Exploration Society’s annual meetings resume this month.
The chairman of the Scientific Exploration Society, Jersey’s eminent explorer Colonel John Blashford Snell CBE will chair the meeting, in which the principal speaker will be Andrew Mitchell.

Unfortunately details previously given of the date and place of the meeting have had to be altered dure to unforeseen complications.
The location will be the St Helier Yacht Club, South Pier, at 6.00pm on Thursday 28 October, and not as previously advertised
Andrew Mitchell will speak on “Banking on Nature”: How Patterson’s Darien disaster in Panama, and Carney’s Tragedy of the Horizon in London, might lead to a change in the movement of money that could save planet Earth.
Master environmental storyteller and former Chairman of the UK based Scientific Exploration Society, Andrew Mitchell will weave an expeditionary tale from the first Governor of the Bank of England, to the last Governor of the Bank of England, exploring how nature and money are set to re-wild the financial frontier!
The evening will be peppered with anecdotes from many expeditions with Colonel John Blashford Snell!
He will also tell some of the stories of recent expeditions.
