DFDS has announced an increase in its onboard capacity for pets, allowing more to travel with their animal companions on southbound routes to and from Saint-Malo. A 25% increase has been applied to the Tarifa Jet and Levante Jet, allowing more pets than ever before to travel to France with their owners.
The southern route vessels can now accommodate up to 25 pets per sailing within passenger vehicles, making more room for cats, dogs and even the occasional ferret.
Following feedback from travellers, DFDS has worked closely with the Jersey States Vet to accommodate more pets onboard and continues to explore how they can enhance their services for pet owners.
The Government of Jersey’s Animal Health and Welfare Team said: ‘Following ongoing training and a review of compliance, it has been agreed the maximum number of pets on the southern route vessel be increased to 25 pets per sailing.’
Steve Garner, Head of Customer Experience, said: ‘We understand that furry friends are very much an extension of families, and we want to allow as many as possible to travel with their pets away on holidays both safely and comfortably. Next year we look forward to introducing Pet Pals across all our Jersey routes, dedicated staff who are pet first-aid trained and can assist in the event of an emergency, really elevating the service we offer to pets and their owners.’
