‘A Summer Serenade’ is the title and theme of the Summer concert of the Jersey Symnphony Orchestra, which takes place on Saturday 1 August at Les Quennevais School Concert Hall,The orchestra will be, once again, under the baton of the JSO’s principal Musical Director, Natalia Luis-Bassa and led by Martin Smith.
The first half of the concert takes us to the glitz and glamour of the opera with orchestral excerpts from composers such as Mozart and Bizet interspersed with some favourite tenor arias sung by our guest soloist, Satriya Krisna.
Satriya was born and raised in Bandung, Indonesia, and is widely recognised as the first Indonesian tenor to pursue an international classical singing career. He initially studied architecture before his passion for music led him to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam where he earned his Bachelor of Music in 2012, followed by his Masters in 2015, before becoming a Young Artist at the National Opera Studio London. Since then he has graced many an international stage and is currently based in Geneva, Switzerland. He is celebrated for his “warm lyrical voice and robust, velvet tone”.
