JERSEY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA – SUMMER CONCERT

Natalia Luis-Bassa

THE Summer Concert of the Jersey Symphony Orchestra will be held on Saturday 2 August 2025 at Les Quennevais School Concert Hall, St Brelade, starting at 7.30pm.

The concert is entitled Celebrate the Classics, and is the first under the baton of Natalia Luis-Bassa. The JSO’s newly appointed Musical Director.

The concert will open with Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture composed in 1843 and then the programme fasts forward 100 years to Arutiunian’s Trumpet Concerto which was composed in 1949/50.  The soloist for this work is Luke Brown, a well-known local musician and usually seen in the back row of the orchestra.  The second half of the concert goes back to the 19th Century for the great classic, Tchaikovsky’s 4th Symphony.
